My work impressed the editors at The Oakland Post, and they encouraged me to apply. Thus, to my great pleasure and excitement, I got my first position in journalism as a staff intern reporter for The Oakland Post. I basically did all the work of a paid reporter, unpaid. I wrote about 3 stories per week, mostly for the Life section, but not all were always published.
